Commissioners Street Bridge Float-By | UrbanToronto
Today’s Daily Photo was taken by UT Forum contributor @globalexpress on August 27 as the east half of the new Commissioners Street Bridge was barged through the opened lower Cherry Street bridge in Toronto’s Port Lands. Work that Waterfront Toronto is currently undertaking to build new neighbourhoods in these under-utilized lands east of Downtown include a new mouth for the Don River, and that requires new bridges for the area. Built in Halifax, there are more sections to still arrive by barge from the East Coast.
