SS Ridgetown | UrbanToronto
Today’s Daily Photo features a moody view of a former lake freighter, converted to a breakwater on Mississauga’s Port Credit waterfront. Originally launched as the SS William E. Corey in 1905, the freighter was renamed SS Ridgetown in 1963 before finally being scuttled to create a breakwater in 1974. 116 years after its launch, the ghostly hull appears through fog in this view by Forum contributor Nwalsh.
