Toronto Advances Community Centre Plan in Davisville Village | UrbanToronto
The City of Toronto has submitted a Site Plan Approval application for a site in the Davisville Village. Not far east of the Davisville and Yonge Street intersection, the site includes the new Davisville Junior Public School and Spectrum Alternative Senior School building which opened in September, 2021. The proposed CS&P Architects-designed 3-storey recreational facility would replace part of the schoolyard on the southwest corner of the site.

to the east is the Isabel and Arthur Meighen Manor nursing home with a Salvation Army chapel on the ground floor at 155 Millwood Road

The City of Toronto and the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) are working together on the new community facility as the area’s demographics showed a lack of such space nearby. The agreement between the City and the TDSB states that the City would lease the land from the TDSB and the City would own and operate the facility. The City would invest in the recent redevelopment of the schools in order to share some of their resources, such as the underground garage, gymnasium, and ancillary space. The City is hoping to start construction this Fall.

An indoor connection from the facility to the school would be through the underground garage, only open outside the times of school use. A north-south pedestrian walkway between the two that accesses the school yard would be always open to the public.
