Work Progressing at Great Gulf and Hullmark’s home: Power and Adelaide | UrbanToronto
Work has progressed significantly at home: Power and Adelaide since we last looked in on the project near the start of the year. Located at Adelaide and Parliament streets in Toronto’s Corktown area, the 22-storey Core Architects-designed condominium and retail building for Great Gulf and Hullmark is topped off and nearly fully clad now. Most of the glazing is in, other than some final installation work to be done for the suites on each tower floor where the exterior hoists are still located, and on the base levels, where larger sheets of glass will cover commercial spaces.

Upon our last update in January, forming had progressed to the 18th floor, moving above the building’s tall 16-storey podium, and had separated into its two individual towers, which would eventually reach their final heights of 19 and 22-storeys. Now, both towers have topped out, and the building’s charcoal-toned brick and white precast panels, along with fritted glass balcony railings have almost all been completed, with a few balconies waiting for glass towards the top of both the inner and outer sides of both towers.

Upon completion, the development will feature 507 units above its base, which will contain approximately 60,000 ft² of retail space that will animate its Parliament Street side to the west. The base will be further animated by landscape design by Ferris + Associates, which is proposed to complement the new retail, residential, and added pedestrian traffic, especially on the Power Street side to the east where it will face a new park between the Adelaide and Richmond street ramps to Eastern Avenue and the Don Valley Parkway.
